Novel Study "Enemy at the Gate"

This term Blake, Nikita and I had to read and answer questions on a New Zealand novel called, "Enemy at the Gate". It made me think about and appreciate how much better our medication is these days. Also, I thought back then that young girls really needed someone to look up to - women that took risks and went on adventures.

Wellington Camp

In week 7 Rimu class went to Wellington camp. My favourite thing was the rock climbing and roller skating.

My least favourite thing was waiting in the airport for the plane because it got delayed and cancelled so much we ended up waiting 6 hours.








And because we wouldn't stop talking Miss Blair drugged us with lavender smelling stuff. This is a picture of it.

Genius Hour Project - The Difference Between the NZ and Australia's ODI Cricket Teams.

This term Rimu class have been working on a project of there choice. I chose to do a cricket based project because I am into cricket. This is what I did.

My New Zealand Artist Video

This term Rimu class have been working on NZ artists. We all chose an artist to do a presentation on and then paint on a canvas. I chose Grahame Sydney to do mine on. I chose him because he paints Central Otago and makes it look like a photo. I think that learning about NZ artists is important because we need to learn about different ways in the industry. Last Nights Curry

Jack was at a curry party. For four hours Jack had pretty much been eating curry nonstop. He particularly liked the chocolate and potato curry with a side of chocolate cherry coke mixed with vodka. Jack was surprised when he got invited to this party because he didn't have any real friends. So he was making the most of it. At 1:27am he decided to go home. He said bye to his "friends" and left. He was a bit drunk, falling into the party hosts garden. BOOM! He exploded and got covered in chocolate and potato curry.

Bad Smell

John woke up. AAHHHHHH! The massive spider that lived under the floorboards  was on his face. John waved his arms around and knocked over a jar. A mysterious smell wafted out. It felt like everything at once, heaven to hell, happy to sad. John got out of bed and went to look for a brush and shovel to clean it up. Once he found the brush and shovel he went back to clean it up but it was gone. Suddenly not caring John went to look for a knife. Pop went the toster and he started to spread the marg.

Little Beauty

Jono and Ben were taking some friends to buy a car. They drove round to their friends house where they all got in Jonos rattley old car. Driving round town they stopped at McDonalds to full up. Then they started driving towards the used car place. On the way Jono drove over a pothole and because the car had no doors Ben fell out. After they had picked Ben up the rest of the ride was uneventful. When the got to the car yard there was a nice old car parked out front. It immediately caught Jonos eye. "WOW".

Holidays

In the holidays I went and did a few things but now I am only going to talk about 2. First up skiing at Mt Hutt. So on the first Monday of the school holidays we went skiing. I managed to ski the top towers for the first time. I also managed to do my first front flip(on accident).

The run starts at the top and finishes about where the chair lift pole is.

We also went biking at Mclanes island on the first Thursday, where most of my family did the 20km loop with Blake. It wasn't that hard but we had to get home for lunch.

Last week Rimu signed up to Night Zookeeper. We wrote a story about a weird sculpture that looked like a head with upside down legs on top. This is my story.

My Speech

This term Rimu class has been writing speeches. I wrote my speech on Living Life to its fullest. I chose this topic because I like outdoor activities. I think that this is important because being happy is important. I thought that I started well. If I did it again i would not list it 1,2,3.

My DigiAwards

This term Blake, Logan and I have entered a DigiAwards competition. In this competition I found having the recycling bin our hero was the hardest. I learnt that you don't muck around with your finished project and get it deleted. If I  did it again I would have edited it better. We chose the movie making category and this is what we made.

Yaldhurst School Ski Trip

Yaldhurst School Ski Trip

On Friday the 28th of August Yaldhurst Model School took a day off school to go to Mt Hutt ski field. In the morning there was no wind or sun. But soon after the wind got up. Even though it wasn't a perfect day we still had a heap of fun.

The best bit was the last run of the day when I took Logan and Blake down the Terrain Park. It was all good until the after the jumps when Blake was like "Ahhh no way I'm doing that!" Logan just went straight ahead and followed me. At the end there was another slightly steep bit and it was funny to see Blake just bomb it.

In class speech project

In class rimu are learning how to make speeches. this is our storyboard.

On Wednesday the Friday sport teams went to Weedons school for the annual Weedons challenge. This year Weedons won the cup. We drew the hockey 3-3 but lost everything else. Despite the losses we still had a great day.

Yesterday, on Thursday 23rd July, we returned to our third term of manual at Lincoln Primary. This term I am in Hard Materials and my teacher is Mr Bowers.
